GMC already has a lot of articulation agreements, and we add more each year. The institutions highlighted in red provided links to their institution`s website. Click on the link to access additional information on transfer and admission requirements. Students who have completed post-secondary work in the United States may be eligible for transfer credits for their AUM baccalaureate if the institution has been accredited at the regional level at the end of the course, as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Thousands of new Alabamas and sophomores begin their first university courses at our colleges before entering a four-year university. The smaller class sizes we offer mean more personalized attention, making it easier for you to move to the university experience. And you save money by starting with us! Courses at Alabama community colleges are less than half the cost of the same university courses you could take at a four-year university. Students at the Chattahoochee Valley Community Centre in Phenix City have access to scholarships and other opportunities at Auburn University, Montgomery, through a new agreement between the two schools. “This agreement provides our students with better access and the opportunity to pursue their educational goals. We are very honoured to be partners with AUM because it is an excellent university,” said Dr. James M.
Mitchell, President of WCCS. Check the transmission equivalency tables to see if the course is already in our database (see link). If the course is not in our system, please talk to your academic advisor to have the course evaluated before taking it to ensure AU credits. Auburn University does not reward credit for corrective or technical courses. If these courses are included in your transfer work, they receive a NOCR 1000 credit. As soon as you submit your official transcripts at admissions, your transfer is entered into our system. If a course is already in our database, the AU equivalent is displayed immediately. If the course is not in our system, you will receive a pending credit for the course. Once you have been accepted by the licensing body, the outstanding credit is assessed by the relevant department. You need to know how your pending credits will be counted until you participate in your SOS session.
Let`s set up a scenario in which your goal is to get admission to a four-year institution to get your licence; However, you were not accepted into your program because you did not meet the minimum licensing standards. As an alternative, you can visit one of our many campuses or online programs for your first two years of study (at a significantly reduced price!) and then move on to the four-year facility of your choice as a junior to complete your studies. Our articulation agreements ensure that most, if not all, of your GMC courses will be transferred smoothly to the next institution and will be charged on obtaining your license. You can see that this is a great way to get your bachelor`s degree. On May 25, leaders of Auburn University in Montgomery and Wallace Selma Community College signed a formal articulation agreement between the two institutions, which provides WCCS students with a means and support to manage the transfer process and move to four years of study at the AUM. An outstanding credit is a temporary credit for a transfer course that is currently being assessed by the respective Auburn Credits Department. Once an equivalent has been determined by the department, the outstanding credit is withdrawn and the AU equivalent is allocated in its place. A system called STARS (Statewide Transfer and Articulating Reporting System) helps ensure that the credits you earn at your community university are actually transferred.
