New ARK modules developed at Villa Magna

By on 8 June 2009.

With the help of a couple of days of heavy rain at the “Villa Magna Project”:http://ark.lparchaeology.com/gallery/villa-magna , ARK developers were able to sit down with the physical anthropologists at the site and discuss their needs for recording of human remains.  A lot of this data has been encorporated into the existing contexts module, with work on an additional specialist module now underway.

During the downpour, we also met with the ceramics specialists and are currently developing a new module to deal with the quantification and classification of ceramic material.  Work on this module is just beginning but will be completed during the second session.

Both modules will be included in the 0.7 release, expected early autumn.
